A short guide for first upload and exports.

Quick start

Your first transcript in four easy steps

It's simpler than you'd think. No setup, no fiddly settings — just hand us a recording (as a file or a link) and you'll have a tidy transcript in a couple of minutes.

  1. 1

    Add a recording

Open Upload and drop your audio or video from your computer or phone onto the highlighted area — or click it to pick the file by hand. And if the recording lives online (say, on a video site), just paste the link and we'll fetch it for you.

  2. 2

    Transcription starts on its own

No extra buttons: as soon as we have the recording, transcription starts automatically. Watch progress in the queue below. If you haven't signed up yet, we'll walk you through a quick sign-up.

  3. 3

Wait for the circle to fill up

Plan for roughly 1–2 minutes of processing per minute of recording. Feel free to close the tab — we'll send you a notification the moment it's ready.

  4. 4

    Read, edit, share

Read the text, fix any typos, ask the built-in AI helper a question about your recording, or send a link to a teammate.

A small tip

The cleaner the recording, the better the transcript. If the room is noisy, try to speak closer to the microphone. See "Recording tips" for more.

Common questions

  • How much does it cost?

Free, unlimited every month. No card required.

  • Is it safe?

Yes. Your files are private. Only you and the people you invite can see them.

  • Will it work for meetings?

Yes. We label each speaker so the transcript reads like a script — easy to follow who said what. You can even send a bot to record an online meeting for you.

  • How accurate is it?

Very good for clear speech. Background noise can lower it — see Recording tips.

  • Is there an API?

Yes — see the Developers section.

  • Can I skip the file and use a link?

Yes. Paste a link to a video or recording and we'll fetch and transcribe it. See "Adding a recording" for details.
