A short guide for first upload and exports.

Adding a recording

Four ways to add a recording

It doesn't matter where your recording lives — on your computer, your phone, or behind a link. Here are all the ways to hand it to us.

Pick whatever's easiest

Drag a file

Open Upload and drop audio or video onto the highlighted area — or click and pick the file by hand. You can add several files at once.

Paste a link

Got a link to a video or recording online? Paste it and we'll fetch the recording and transcribe it. Links from popular video sites and direct links to a file both work.

Record right in your browser

Need to capture a conversation or dictate a note right now? Click Record, allow microphone access, and talk. The recording goes straight to transcription.

Send a bot to an online meeting

Paste a meeting link (Zoom, Yandex Telemost, and others) and our bot joins the call, records it, and makes the transcript for you. In some cases the bot recording may be unavailable — then just upload the meeting file by hand.

Transcribe just the part you need

If only part of a recording matters, flip on the "Process only a fragment" toggle and set a start and end time (say, from 05:30 to 12:00). We'll transcribe just that stretch — it's faster and saves minutes.

Which files work

Everyday audio and video from your phone or computer all work: voice memos, voice messages, podcasts, video calls. Common formats like MP3, M4A, WAV, or MP4 usually don't cause any trouble — for video we simply pull out the sound. The allowed size and types are shown right on the upload page.

What to do if a recording won't upload

We always try to explain in plain words what went wrong. Here are the common messages and what they mean.

  • "This doesn't look like a media file"

You probably picked a document or an image instead of audio or video. Check the file and upload a recording with sound.

  • "No speech found in the recording"

The file is only silence, music, or noise. Make sure the microphone was on and try a recording that has a voice in it.

  • "The file is corrupt"

The recording downloaded or saved only partly. Try uploading the file again, or save it once more on your device.

  • "The link is unavailable"

The recording behind the link is private, removed, or needs a login. Check that the link opens in your own browser, or download the file and upload it directly.

  • Upload stalls or won't start

Sometimes it just helps to wait a moment and try again. If that doesn't help, drop us a line in support and we'll sort it out.
